XRRP and routing
Question on HP Procurve core switches:
1. If i try to connect a console cable on Core1 (HP) and try some ping test it works fine, I try to ping the VLAN IP interfaces of Core1 and Core2 it works ok. Then i try to connect a console cable on Core2 (HP) and try some ping test on VLAN IP interfaces of Core1 the result is no response, the only ping test that is ok is when i try to ping the IP interfaces of VLANs on Core2. What do you think is the problem?
core2(config)# ping 192.168.50.254
ping failed: Network is unreachable on this VLAN.
core2(config)# ping 192.168.50.253
response is alive.....
core2(config)# ping 192.168.14.249
ping failed: Network is unreachable on this VLAN.
core2(config)# ping 192.168.14.248
response is alive.....
2. I connect a workstation on VLAN16 and then i try to telnet the Core1 (ip address is 192.168.14.249) no problem with that i can telnet the Core1 switch, when i try to telnet the Core switch (ip address is 192.168.14.248) it redirect the management to Core1 i cannot manage the Core2. What is the problem with that?
3. When i remove the link on 3com 4400 that is connected on core2 theres no problem with the connection but when i try to remove the link of 3com 4400 that is connected to core1 there is no failover that is happening, what is the problem with that?

Re: XRRP and routing
Hi Michael,
If I take a look at your configurations and the plan there are several questions to be answered.
Where are the blocked ports in your stp-design?
Why you do not use the resilent link feature from 3com?
Why it is necassary to cluster the hp-side for vlan 16?
Why you are using an "active-active-design" for xrrp?
Maybe you give me some answers, so we can discuss your problem further?
Best Regards,
Guido
