agere modem problem
hello, i have this hp pavilion a610l pc and three days back.. the modem stopped funtioning..
an exclamation mark appears in my device manager( i am using windows xp sp2) beside the modem(Agere PCI soft modem).
I tried uninstalling it and installed the drivers once again but it doesnt happen to work. And it says "the device cannot find enough free resources to start error code 12".
I have also tried downloading latest drivers and installed it,but in vain. So please tell me what i should do, is there some specific steps i should follow while installin the drivers??

Re: agere modem problem
Do you have , Norton AV installed, I would diable any AV services and try and start them manually "Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services"
If that fails remove the device from the "Control Panel->System->Hardware" section and then reboot. It should then reinstall the drivers from scratch
