configure spanning-tree on hp 2910al-48

I would like to know what the best way to configure the Spanning-tree on hp procurve 2910al-48. I have one hp 2900 connected to PoP on our first floor and this connected/uplinked to another hp 2900 on third floor (fibre link) and 7 hp2910al-48 switches connected to it (uplinked through port 48).
We are using two VLANs (vlan 1 and vlan 100): vlan 1 used only for uplinking the switches and vlan 100 for the rest (all data, no VOIP).The network is working fine but i would like to use the STP in case on any unforseen problem.
What is the best way to configure the spanning-tree? and what command should use on each of our switches? Thanks in advance.
PS: I have never worked with spanning-tree.

Re: configure spanning-tree on hp 2910al-48

Hello,
when I understand you have one switch connect to a 2nd. At these 2nd switch there are connected 7 other switches.
In this constallation STP is not working because there is no ring which STP can handle.
