Re: defaultuser

Hi Reiner,

To reset the username/password, hold in 'clear' on the front of the switch.

The manuals are located at: http://www.hp.com/rnd/support/manuals/8000_4000_2424.htm

Re: defaultuser

Try holding the clear button in for longer, maybe 10 seconds or so.

If that still doesn't help then your only option is to try a factory reset.

Factory reset:
Hold reset in
Hold clear in
Release reset - wait for self test light to start flashing
Release clear.

Re: defaultuser

You've accidently gone into the boot monitor mode by holding in the clear a bit too long. Try resetting it again.

Re: defaultuser

hm, does not work. i push and hold the resetbutton. then i push and hold the clearbutton for circa 1 second. i release the resetbutton and then begins the test-led tu flash. i release the clearbutton but before the flashing is finished. the switch is rebooting an the comes the loginpromt :|

Re: defaultuser

Those are the only tricks you can try. After a factory reset or password clear, there should be no username/password prompt. If you press enter at the username what happens? I think you should probably contact support about this and possibly have a new chassis sent out.
