disable STP

Hi all,
If I disable STP on my 5308xl's, do I have to reboot them or will the change be made immediatly?

Thanks all

Re: disable STP

If you change the stp configuration with the menu-interface, you will seen a '*' at the main-menu. that means you must reboot.

have a nice day.

Re: disable STP

From the command-line, you can go to the menue or you type "write memory" to save the config and than "boot" to reboot the switch.

Re: disable STP

FYI,

From the command-line, I used the command no spanning-tree and no reboot is required. It worked fine for me.

Just thought you would like to know.

Thanks all

Re: disable STP

Turning on and off STP does not require rebooting. Switching to and from MSTP will require a reboot.
If a problem can be fixed, there's nothing to worry. If a problem can't be fixed, worrying ain't gonna help. Bottom line: don't worry.
