how to set an A4926A Gig ether card to 1000FD auto negotiate off

To all networking gurus,

I have an issue with Veritas Netbackup that its giving me these exit status 41 on filesystems. It means that there is some sort of network issue. The card we have loaded is an A4926A and currently running HP-UX 11.11.

When I do a lanadmin -x 3, I get the following results:

Speed = 1000 Full-Duplex.
Autonegotiation = On.
Memory fault(coredump)

Question 1:

How do I manually set this card to 1000FD AUTO_OFF?

Question 2:

I have some statistics from a switch and I dont know what to make of them. The stats are as follows:

FCS-Err=1339
Runts=9281
Giants=172

I have a call open with HP and they say to get rid of the core dumping of the lanadmin command would be to load PHNE_28923. There is a newer lan driver for this card that is PHNE_28883.

Does anyone think the port on the switch is bad or is it the lan card/lan driver on the HP-UX side?

TIA

Todd
