hp procurve 1410-24g not sharing Internet connection

Hi all,

I bought a 1410-24g to share the Internet connection at my house.

1) I have a broadband modem in bridge mode

2) Modem is connected to my Airport Extreme WAN port (AE used for NAT+DCHP+FW)

3) AE is connected to my 1410-24g in port 23 (uplink)

4) Port 10 in my 1410-24g is connected to my computer

5) No Ethernet/Internet connection (AE has the Internet connection)

Doing something wrong? Please help.

Re: hp procurve 1410-24g not sharing Internet connection

Hi again,

I also tried with a crossover cable but no success.

Any suggestions? Can it really be broken?

A crossover cable isnt needed, because since gbit all port got auto-mdix.

Do u got a link between pc and switch or switch and ae, are the leds flashing? Have you tried to connect your pc to another port on the switch?

Re: hp procurve 1410-24g not sharing Internet connection

Hi,

I have a link between switch and ae (the led port 23 is blinking) but not between pc and switch. And I have tried with other ports also.

I got the same route working with another older switch with auto-sensing ports.

So to me this seems like the uplink doesn't go up.

Yes, it seems to be. Try to fix your NIC-Speed to 1000 Auto. If u got a Windows OS: Properties of LAN-Adapter -> configure -> advanced -> speed and duplex.

Try to connect to the switch with another client, notebook or another pc. Connect to web-interface and fix the port to 1 gbit too. Both ports have to be auto oder fixed speed, if auto doesnt work try to fix...
