interconnexion pb between catalyst 3524 and procurve 2524

Hello all,

the mail I posted yesterday does'nt appear in the forum ...
(perhaps a bad manipulation, being a new user in the forum)
I am facing presently a serious problem when connecting 2524 switches to cisco catalyst 3524
(port forced to 100 FDX, stting which works fine with my 8 ancient 2424).
did anybody encounter such problems ?

If you are trying to do trunking make sure you have both ends set to the same thing either 802.1q tagging or ISL.

Make sure you set both ends to 100 Full.


Do you see link lights when you connect?

I reply to both Jerome and Ron,
The problème I encountered (fixed since yesterday) was the following :
interconnecting hp2424 and cisco3524 is not critical (auto and forced 100FDX).

hp firmaware did not influence, I had F.04.08, I downloaded F.05.17, I even was given a 01.01 old version...the cisco's IOS is 12.0(5) XU (C3500XL-C3H2S-M)

replacing hp2424 by hp2524 does'nt work properly with 100FDX forced on both sides
(600 Kbit/s). I had to configure auto-auto and a bench displaus a normal 70-75 Mbit/s

For me, it was better to force 100FDX on both sides, I would like to know if it is the most common way in interconnectons between switches.

I have seen this problem on another router. I fixed by using 100F on the Cisco and Auto on the HP.
