Re: lacp on irf enabled switch

LACP (Port Trunking) configuration on Comware based Switch (5120) and ProVision base ones (2510g) is described on respective configuration manuals (look for them through HPE Support portal, it's pretty easy and simple), commands are similars but not equals and, on Comware, configuration steps' order is far more important than the one required on ProVision (There is an HPE Knowledge Base article about how to deploy Port Trunking on Comware and ProVision).

About IRF, for sure you shall find the 5120 IRF Configuration Guide, that's the starting point to understand how to correctly create and maintain an IRF with your two units (With only two Switches you are limited by a Daisy Chain IRF Topology).

Re: lacp on irf enabled switch

I second that - if you carefully follow the steps in the IRF Configuration Guide it works first try every time.

Link aggregation is often a bit more hit and miss in a multi-vendor scenario, but the Procurve/Commware trunking guide should clarify everything for you.
