modem installation

reinstalled windows98se after replacing hard drive. Had previously added Zoom isa card (it worked before hard drive crash). Installed my ISP software and got Waiting to Redial message. No dial noises.

checked control panel and modem is on comm3 port. I removed modem (in control panel), tried add hardware, and noticed windows only checked comm1 and comm2 and didn't detect the modem. Shutdown and restart detected modem on comm3. Did control panel > diagnostic > more info and got open port message.

What do i need to do to get windows and modem on same page?

Never mind. Reinstallation seemed to take care of it.
