no ip routing on certain vlans

Hi all,

Is it possible to configure certain VLAN(s) to be layer 2 only and not included any routing etc.

I am using a 3500yl switch.

Thanks

Re: no ip routing on certain vlans

Hi,

Do you mean you want the entire VLAN to be Layer 2 only ? (in that case, don't configure a gateway for that subnet)
Or do you mean you have an IP configured on your 3500yl for that VLAN and you don't want it to route that VLAN between the others (then you'll need to use an ACL to restrict traffic).
Or do you mean something else entirely different? :)
