procurve switches not clearing out port statistics
Hello,
I have an ongoing problem with a number of HP switches that is starting to really bug me. (5400,3500).
It would appear that after clearing port stats, the number of errors comes back.
case in point: We usually monitor switches to track network issues. When we set drops or collisions, we investigate to solve the problem.
However, after clearing the port stats, the errors usually return to their count before the clear.
We are running the lastest firmware on our switches.
any ideas? this is a real pain

Re: procurve switches not clearing out port statistics
Hi,
if u type:
clear statis a1
then the counters are cleares only for the current telnetsession.
You can try:
clear statis glob
then the counters of all!! ports will be cleared untill next reboot or next "clear stati global".

Hi,
What firmware version are you running.
Had same problem.
K15.03.xxx should solve this problem.
But you still have to use 'global'.
