reaching internet gateway from second VLAN on HP 2824?


I'm having trouble reaching the internet from VLAN 20 on a HP2824. What kind of static route
command do I have to type so that vlan 20
can reach the Internet? The Internet gateway is located on vlan 10 port 1 with ip 192.168.0.65.

Hi

You have 2 Vlans within one switch, so you should enable routing between Vlans:
2824(config)#ip routing
After that try from Vlan20 to ping internet gateway, it should be ok.
OR
if you are doing routing on external router, then its different scenario, create sub-interfaces on your router, and assign an ip address for each interface in the same range of the Vlan, then be sure to tagg all vlans on the link between router to switch, and keep the default vlan (native) untagged, then change the command ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.0.65 , to be
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 a.b.c.d, where a.b.c.d is the IP address of sub-interface related to default-vlan (native) on the router.
