redundant 2910al's as Layer 2 access switches in a VMware/iSCSI enviroment

I'm setting up the redundant switching infrastructture for a VMware/iSCSI SAN installation. We already have a 5406zl for our core layer 3 switch which is located in the PBX/communications room. The VMware equipment is located in its own server cabinet in the server room. It's not feasable to make all of the network connections between the to rooms so I'm using a pair of 2910al's in the server cabinet as layer two access switches for the VM servers and SAN. The 2910's are connected together via a pair of 10G interconnect (CX4) kits for a 20G inter-switch static trunk (everything tagged). Each 2910al has it's own interface (ip address) in vlan 1 and has it's default gateway pointed to the 5406zl core switch. Each 2910al also has a 2GB static trunk back to the core 5406zl. I think I pretty well have my redunancy covered, unless the 5406zl would fail alltogether. Comments?
