'sh CDP neigh' change address

I have installed a core 5406, and it is linked to a 3500.
When I am on the 3500, I do a show CDP neigh detail, and it is giving me the address of one of the VLANs on the core, but I dont want to connect using this address, so basically I want the core to advertise another VLAN address to connect to when sending its info out on the network.
Is there a way of changing the cdp neigh address advertisment on the core ?

Re: 'sh CDP neigh' change address

Hi,

Do you see the address that you want if you use the "show lldp information remote" command?
If not then I believe you can change what is adverstised for that (cdp is not really supported on the procurves anymore).
I think was was somewhere under "lldp config ..."

Tell us more about this vlan.
is this vlan configured as management vlan on the 5406 or the 3500?
is it the PVID of the connected ports.
or is it an address of a loopback interface?
if it is not, it may help to create a loopback interface so that address will be used as identification.
