source-port filter problem on HP 2600

Hi,
I'm trying to use the "filter port-source" command on my 2600s. But when i enter the command the switch reboots with no warning.

I'm running the latest software release.

Has anyone heard or experienced this problem before?

Best regards
/Marcus

Re: source-port filter problem on HP 2600

Hello Marcus,

Please define latest release, and what is the exact syntax you are using?

Re: source-port filter problem on HP 2600

I'm using H.08.53 and the syntax is:

"filter source-port 1 block 2-24,26"

as I want to restrict port 1 to all ports except port 25.

Re: source-port filter problem on HP 2600

The boot-history show:

Master -- Saved Crash Information (most recent first):
======================================================

SubSystem 0 went down: 02/23/05 13:33:48
Assertion failed: BCM_PBMP_MEMBER(npbm,(B56_STACKING_PORT(unit))), file hp_stand
alone.c, line 7108

The show verion actually tells me that the switch runs H.08.54.

Thankful for any help!

Re: source-port filter problem on HP 2600

Marcus,

Call HP 0771-30 30 00 choose option 5 and then option 1. You will be connected to ProCurve support.

Ask for the firmware H.08.57 or later there this error should be fixed.

100% this will fix your problem.
