tftp error message
I am receiving an event from one of my 5372xl switches that reads:
02:01:26 tftp: SENT error:1, msg: File not found
This started to be generated automatically after I upgraded to E.07.40. I have no idea why is this happening. I didn't configure anything related to tftp on the switch, so I am confused by this message.
have anyone seen this before?
Thanks in Advance,
-Carlos

Re: tftp error message
This message is caused when the HP switch is accessed by another device using
tftp. The message appears when the requested file doesn't exist.
Use an analyzer to check out which device is causing this message.
One possible cause:
A Cisco device is configured with service config and is trying to load it's
config from the HP switch.
Solution:
Disable service config if not required: no service config
From www.cisco.com:
---snip---
service config
To enable autoloading of configuration files from a network server, use the
service config global configuration command. Use the no form of this command to
restore the default.
service config
no service config
Syntax Description
This command has no arguments or keywords.
Defaults
Disabled, except on systems without NVRAM or with invalid or incomplete
information in NVRAM. In these cases, autoloading of configuration files from a
network server is enabled automatically.
Command Modes

Re: tftp error message
Also there is an enhancment request already submitted...not sure when it will be implemented though....
There is already an enhancement request to change the message text:
Enhance that message to read: "tftp: Non-existent file requested by node
w.x.y.z", where w.x.y.z is the IP address of the requesting node.
