vlan between switches

Dear sir,

i have a speciall case scenario that i need your advice for.

I have two separted subnets that are not connected with each other. 10.14.12.* and 192.168.1.*.

lets say the first subnet we will cal it A and the seconed we will call it B.

now i want B to connect to a server inside A using the VLANS. Now the switch on B is 2610 and the swith in A is 2510G.

i have one router that connected in A which is cisco 1700

please help me its too much important
im so confused with the term tagged and untagged. and where shall i specify the ip address for each port.

Re: vlan between switches

please post a topology diagram showing how are these 3 devices are connected.

for the mean while regarding the tagging and untagging, will the port that connects to other switch or router should be untagged on the default vlan (vlan1) and by defaul all the ports are untgged on that vlan, and for the other vlans, this port should be tagged on all of the vlans that you want to go through that link

means for example, you have vlans 1, 2 and 3
and using port 13 to connect to other switch so:

Vlan 1
untag 13

vlan 2
tag 13

vlan 3
tag 13

and so on.

Re: vlan between switches

i still didnt get it
can you explain more in details

here is my diagram that im planning to get
the aim is to let the computers on the subnet 192.168.1.* to connect to the server under 10.14.12.* without effecting there internet connection nor there network installation.

Re: vlan between switches

in this case y don't you connect the DLINK modem to the cisco router and let the router handle the routing,
by doing this it will be easier.

Re: vlan between switches

well i cannot do that because the two networks are have two separted data line

that i dont want them to get mixed.
my aim to make them seperated as much as i can.

Re: vlan between switches

use ACL to saperate them on the router.

Re: vlan between switches

Then you need to create VLAN's and let the Cisco router do the inter-VLAN routing and ACL
