volatile download

Hi, I have dsl, but when I try to download programs it starts at a fast 180K/s then drops after only a few seconds gradually to a stable 90K/s speed. Is there any reason for this? Shouldn't just stay kaput at 180K steadily?

Re: volatile download

The quick answer, no. Sometimes it deals with network conditions, the way the speed is calculated, but mainly, it deals with some sites limiting the bandwidth per user and well as the maximum number of downloads.
