Please advise if my settings for MSTP are correct
I am trying to build a network using MSTP on HPE OfficeConnect 1920, as follows:
https://yadi.sk/i/dOlxH_swp47PmQ
RI1spanning-tree mst priority 0 8192spanning-tree mst instance 1spanning-tree mst priority 1 8192spanning-tree mst instance 2spanning-tree mst priority 2 16384EI1spanning-tree mst priority 0 16384spanning-tree mst instance 1spanning-tree mst priority 1 4096spanning-tree mst instance 2spanning-tree mst priority 2 8192WI1spanning-tree mst priority 0 16384spanning-tree mst instance 1spanning-tree mst priority 1 8192spanning-tree mst instance 2spanning-tree mst priority 2 16384RI2spanning-tree mst priority 0 16384spanning-tree mst instance 1spanning-tree mst priority 1 16384spanning-tree mst instance 2spanning-tree mst priority 2 8192EI2spanning-tree mst priority 0 32768spanning-tree mst instance 1spanning-tree mst priority 1 8192spanning-tree mst instance 2spanning-tree mst priority 2 4096WI2spanning-tree mst priority 0 16384spanning-tree mst instance 1spanning-tree mst priority 1 16384spanning-tree mst instance 2spanning-tree mst priority 2 8192RI3spanning-tree mst priority 0 8192spanning-tree mst instance 1spanning-tree mst priority 1 16384spanning-tree mst instance 2spanning-tree mst priority 2 16384EI3spanning-tree mst priority 0 8192spanning-tree mst instance 1spanning-tree mst priority 1 16384spanning-tree mst instance 2spanning-tree mst priority 2 16384WI3spanning-tree mst priority 0 4096spanning-tree mst instance 1spanning-tree mst priority 1 16384spanning-tree mst instance 2spanning-tree mst priority 2 32768

Re: Please advise if my settings for MSTP are correct
Hi @vmuhanov !
In my opinion "correctness" of a configuraiton should be measured against the target. There is only one thing that really matters - what is your idea about this network, how do you want it to work. It's you who decides what is needed. If a configuration does what you want, it is correct. It may be not optimal, not scalable, but it will be correct if correctness is all you care about.
Will this configuration work? Yes, MSTP will take care and provide you the loop-free network. Is this design optimal - the whole idea of building relatively large (outside small office) network using L2 access swithes seems very questionable to me, but you are the one who takes the decision, if you want to go this way, good luck. In overall your picture reminds me one famous article by Petr Lapukhov - https://blog.ine.com/2008/09/24/mstp-tutorial-part-ii-outside-a-region Is it the source of your network design inspiration? (-: If those clouds are regions like in Petr's article I hope you understand that from 6 inter-region links you will have only 2 links forwarding. But in overall it should work and MSTP is definitely the least problem of this network (-:
