Procurve 2626 startup
I have a procurve 2626 switch with the latest firmware installed. When it has been unplugged for an hour or more it takes over 10 minutes to boot to a ready state - sometimes even longer. When I unplug it and plug it straight back in it takes 2 minutes to boot. The firmware is loaded correctly and I have deleted the promary and secondary flash images,

Re: Procurve 2626 startup
Hi,
Can you confirm your firmware version ? "show version" should be H.10.83
Can you confirm your ROM version ? "show flash" should be H.08.05
Have you done an "erase startup-config" to revert back to factory default setting ? (you will lose your configuration)
Do you have many configuration files ? "show config file" you can delete unused files with "erase config <filename>"
Do you have logs ? "show log -r -a"
Regards,

Re: Procurve 2626 startup
Hi,
Can you tell us the exact model référence of your switch ? "show run"
Running configuration:
; J4900C Configuration Editor; Created on release #H.10.83
Have you check the logs ?
Do you have advanced features configured ? Like 802.1x or RADIUS, switch IP by DHCP ?
Bye.

Re: Procurve 2626 startup
it is a J4900B
The logs do not show any errors although the date does show as 01/01/90 until the switch accesses the NTP server. It just seems weird that it takes a long time to boot when the power cord is out for over an hour yet if I pull the power cord out and plug it back in after 5 minutes it boots quickly

Re: Procurve 2626 startup
Look to console output if the switch is looping during boot until its warm.
