Replacement 3870 received- just drop in?

I have a 3Com 3870 switch that is a warranty replacement, ready to swap in for the one indicating a fan failure.  It is NOT the stack master.  Can I simply power down the faulty switch, disconnect the stacking cable, swap in the replacement and expect it will adopt the identity of the faulty switch?  I've confirmed that all switches have the same firmware version, should anything else be done to ensure a smooth swap?
