11.23 on 9000 N Class
I've installed 11.23 on my HP 9000 N class server. after completion of OS installation, i can ping every host from my N class server. but from other hosts, i can not ping, nor telnet to my N Class.
Can anyone help?
Regards,
Horace

Re: 11.23 on 9000 N Class
have you checked the ip address and address resolution ?
Does your DNS server know about your machine.

Re: 11.23 on 9000 N Class
How are you trying to get to the 9000 from the other servers -- IP address or host name?

Re: 11.23 on 9000 N Class
Make sure there is a valid /etc/nsswitch.conf
See what /etc/inetd.conf says and make sure its running.

Re: 11.23 on 9000 N Class
am trying to get the /etc/inetd.conf and syslog.log files posted, but since i not ping the n class from anywhere, i can not get them.
but i think we have a point on the inetd.conf file. does anyone has a sample of which such file should look like? because i can see in my file, that all lines are commented.
waiting for ur comments.....

Re: 11.23 on 9000 N Class
/usr/newconfig
In your case,
cp /usr/newconfig/etc/inetd.conf /etc/inetd.conf
and you now have the original file.
