2 K580 and one monitor, mouse, kbd how to switch w/o/ reboot??

2 K580 and one monitor, mouse, kbd how to switch w/o/ reboot??

How can I switch monitor, mouse, keyboard from one system to
the other without rebooting? I don't have any fancy switches.

Now if I unplug the monitor from one and plug to the other
I get no video on the monitor. Is there a command I can run to
get a signal to the monitor?

What about keyboard and mouse?

Why you don't try a remote login (if you are networking)
# rlogin
It?s not a good pratice plug and unplug devices while your system is up.

My feeling is you will need a console switch of some sort. I know that on some systems they won't boot if the console is not hooked up. If you are doing the rlogin commands. unless you transfer the console control to the rlogin tty, you will not receive the console messages.

The console switch will allow both devices to operate without having to unplug/plug devices to the system. On top of that, the monitor will be the console for both systems.

You'll definitely need a console switch.
Just a 2 or 4 port Black Box won't cost very much and is *well* worth it.
The problem is, if you boot a system without the monitor etc. attached, it will redirect to the serial console. Then when you switch the monitor/keyboard over, it's not initialized since the console is now set to serial.
I agree...console switch or an rlogin are about your only choices.
Or get a cheap, discarded vt100 amber console. I love 'em. :)

The system boots fine if the monitor is not attached!

What good does a switch do if there is no video signal?

So far no one that has responded understood the question
so I'll elaborate. If you boot one of these systems with the
monitor cable disconnected and then plug in the monitor after boot
up you get no video.

I was inquiring about a command that would re-sync the video
after the system is up?

And I would also like to know if the kbd/mouse suffer any similar
problem.
