32 or 64 bit

Hi,
how to know my operating system is 32 bit or 64 bit or otherwise.
the operating system I am using is thr64 unix v5.1.

Tru64....truly 64 ;)
there are different ways to find in various OS.
HPUX
#getconf KERNEL_BITS
LINUX
#uname -a
if x86 its 32 bit else 64.

for Tru64 I think getconf(1) would help you out.

Tru64 didnt came with 32 bit . its 64 bit OS but if you still want to check use getconf command
