Hi All,

when i trying to login to my system "BL860c i2" i facing this message "Access is denied by the AUTH_MAXTRIES attribute in security(4). Root login from the console is allowed."

and i trying to login from the console but also i facing the same message "authentication failures on account "root" Access is denied by the AUTH_MAXTRIES attribute in security(4)."

How to resolve this issue ??

Hi,

Seems like too many attempts

/etc/default/security file AUTH_MAXTRIES parameter is defined as;

AUTH_MAXTRIES= (some value) i.e 4

AUTH_MAXTRIES defines the maximum allowed number of consecutive unsuccessful login tries before an account is locked. If zero, any number of tries is allowed.

i do not sure whether are you using remote userid or local userid to access into server.

by the way please try to unlock userid and try again
