Access to a tape created under UNIX on a WIN XP PC

I have a DDS-3 tape created on a UNIX server that I need to access from a WIN XP machine. It was created using the standard UNIX tape tools. I have a compatible drive on the PC, but I am having trouble locating application software that will recognize the format. Any ideas?

Never tried but I saw that there is possible to use cygwin with tape devices.

The Unix tools for windows also have the tar, dd, command.

Which "standard UNIX tape tools"? GNU tar?
tar? dump? ufsdump? vfsdump? vxdump? ...

The tape is created by a script, but "tar tv" succesfully does the verify.

I'd guess that the script used some program
to make the tape. Possibly "tar". Of
course, some of us can't see that script.

So you apparently need a "tar" program for
Windows XP. You might get better advice on
that in a Windows forum.
