Addiing support for tape drive to existing kernel

Hi,

I installed hp-ux 9.04, but its in not recognizing a tape drive. This is the drive i have to use for restoration.

Can anyone advise me how to add tape drive support to the existing kernel.

Re: Addiing support for tape drive to existing kernel

Use SAM > Kernel Configuration > Drivers, then select any tape drivers (stape, tape2, etc) and then Action > Add to Kernel. The Actions > Process New Kernel to build a new kernel with the tape drivers included.

Pete

P.S. The SAM steps were from a 11.11 system so your 9.04 version of SAM may have slightly different choices.

I think it could be tape1 or tape2, depending on your server model.

Hope this helps!

Shalom and congrats.

You have installed a version of HP-UX that was obsolete 15 years ago.

I was wondering what the business need here is.
