Adding a remote printer.
Can someone please assist me regarding setting up a remote network printer on Tru64. The printer has been directly installed on Win2000 pc and is also shared.
Copy of my /etc/printcap:
lp0|0|Test:\
:lf=/usr/adm/lp0err:\
:lp=:\
:rm=rids:\
:rp=unix:\
:sd=/usr/spool/lpd0:
Regards

Re: Adding a remote printer.
windows printers can not be used directly only if lpd printing is installed.
If so use lprconfig and the setup program will ask you all necessary questions if selecting "remote". Printcap is absolut not necessary if using lprconfig. hostresolution and setup on windows side must be correct if so it will work without any problem.
Btw. have a look into the admin guide explaining printing and setup or simple use the search function within the forum to find similar answers and questions.
