Shalom,

How many LUNS do you have now?

You should be able to merely set them up on the XP SAN and present them to the Linux system unless there is a driver limitation on number of LUNS.

Re: Additional Luns on Redhat Linux with XP24000 SAN

We have a XP24000 setup with Luns already assigned...

We are wanting to add some more Luns from the SAN to the servers...

Is there away to get the servers to see the LUNS without rebooting the servers...

Can the new luns be scanned and then be used via fdisk or parted

Re: Additional Luns on Redhat Linux with XP24000 SAN

I usually run do this after presenting new luns.

echo "- - -" > /sys/class/scsi_host/hostX/scan

To find out if hostX relates to your hba you can cat /sys/class/scsi_host/hostX/procname. It should show you the name of the driver module being used. You'll want to do this for each hba port connected to the san. Once you do this you can check out dmesg to see if it picked up the luns. I also think hp has a package that has a few scripts that will do this for you.
