Already running dispatcher process at diagtx start in rc.log
Rebooted our Superdome 2 running HP-UX 11.31 with the September 2012 Quality Pack installed. Started receiving emails to root from the system-defined cron process-
5,20,35,50 * * * * /opt/psb/bin/restart_logserv.sh
which said-
Already running dispatcher process with pid 2092
Checked pid 2092, and it is cron. Don't understand what this has to do with the software in /opt/psb.
Checked /etc/rc.log from reboot, and found the same error listed after 'Start diagtx daemon' which happens to start right after cron. So did something get overlaid during this start-up? The system seems to be confused.
I killed the cron pid, started diagtx daemon manually, and restarted cron. That seems to have resolved the situation, but still would like to know what happened.
Thanks,
Randy

Re: Already running dispatcher process at diagtx start in rc.log
Or: cron ran and the script (still probably the source of the issue) decided the diagx process was not running.
