Re: Alternatepath of a devic file

SAM should help you do find it easily. Just go to the disk management in SAM.

Hope this helps!

Re: Alternatepath of a devic file

Sagar,

What version of OS you are using:
Hope you are using powerpath,
Check with :
/sbin/powertmt display dev=c100t6d0
And you will see the primary and alternate path of /dev/dsk/c100t6d0

Then you can add using vgextend vg_name

Ex: # vgextend /dev/vg01 /dev/dsk/c100t6d1

Cheers,
Raj.

Re: Alternatepath of a devic file

There is no multipath software installed on this server.

We use PV Links.

The LUNS are presented from the Cx700 clarrion storgae

Re: Alternatepath of a devic file

Hi,

which OS version?

Until HP-UX 11iv2 (AFAIK) you can just guess from ioscan which is the alternate path, I mean without still having alternate paths in LVM configuration. When you add them to LVM config. you can see alternate paths of a LUN by pvdisplay.

In HP-UX 11iv3 there's no trouble if you just create/add volume groups with persistent device files (/dev/disk/diskX) which already does assume all paths for the LUN.

HTH.

Best regards,
Fabio
