Auto-set time at reboot?

I work on my hp every so often. So when I boot it up again I have to keep setting the time each time.

Is there a way (internet/script) to auto set the time at bootup?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Auto-set time at reboot?

Hi Joe:

COnfigure XNTP (NTP) and at startup let it synchronize your server's clock to an external source. There are any number of threads in this forum with the details!

Re: Auto-set time at reboot?

xntpd would be the best option for keeping the correct time, but if you want to set it just at bootup, take a look at ntpdate command.

Re: Auto-set time at reboot?

Hi (again):

If you want a guide to NTP and the use of 'ntpdate' (best used to initially step the local server clock to the correct time at startup) see chapter-4 of:

[ the HP-UX Internet Services Administrator's Guide ].
