I know there's a way to "bail out" of booting a K when it's stuck in a busy-wait, but I'll be darned if I can remember the key sequence. Control... something...

Ctrl-B rs for reset OR
Ctrl-B tc for transfer of control

I believe that you will need to enable the ability to issue the CTRL_b by setting the key switch to SERVICE mode on a K-Server. On a D-box there is a small black slide switch on the back of the server that arms the same functionality.
