Been years, so I need a hand

Hi all,

I haven't had to touch HP-UX since 2001. I'm now in charge of some HP-UX servers and need a hand with a problem that I am not finding much on. We are in the midst of a SAN switch upgrade. We disconnected the HBA from the SVC that presents the SAN disks to the servers. Our Linux and Windows servers rediscovered the paths just fine and continued. The HP-UX servers are showing unopened. Here's some info I gathered that may be of use in helping me out. Thanks in advance.

HP-UX 11i V1 version

Proactive Polling On

#>

I have tried the following steps to no avail:

insf -e

ioscan -funC fc

ioscan -funC disk

Other servers have IBMsdd installed on them and I tried the following step after those two on them:

cfgvpath -r

Thanks again.

Re: Been years, so I need a hand

It appears that the new SAN switch isn't configured for HP-UX ports (which are not the same as Windows or Linux). ioscan won't help much as the HBAs are just not liking the ports where they are connected.

Re: Been years, so I need a hand

Update:

I had a test box with SAN disks and after a reboot the paths recovered themselves. It's odd that it took a reboot.

Sidenote:

The linux boxes a few racks over that had the same migration occur and picked up the new paths without a reboot. I'm still at a loss for why the HP-UX boxes would not see them.
