Re: Best practices Ignite

A more detailed question would be better, I think.

What is meant by "auto ignite"?

Meanwhile see

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Best practices Ignite

you can put a cron job on client to run make_net_recovery during off load timings.
Additionally you can send result of cron to you mail id.

Re: Best practices Ignite

script for "automatic" by putting under the crontab

# more os_make_tape_recovery.sh

/opt/ignite/bin/make_tape_recovery -x inc_entire=vg00 -Iv -a /dev/rmt/0mn
> /opt/sysadminScripts/osbackup.log.`date +%d%m%Y` 2>&1
mt -f /dev/rmt/0mn rewind;
mt -f /dev/rmt/0mn off;

please take note /dev/rmt/0mn -> tape drive path

/opt/sysadminScripts/ -> location of my Os_backup_script -> its depends to can copy or create the script as per your preferred loaction

Thanks,
Johnson

Re: Best practices Ignite

Shalom,

Best practice is to use cron to run your Ignite job, make_tape_recovery or make_net_recovery

If using tape, make sure a tape is in the drive before the appointed hour.

It is also good to have a DR test where you actually restore a system from Ignite. Its not a good solution if you are not sure it will work.
