Boot problem after "jumping to bootstrap code"

boot dka400
(boot dka400.4.0.6.0)
block 0 of dka400.4.0.6.0 is a valid boot block
reading 15 blocks from dka400.4.0.6.0
bootstrap code read in
base = 1f2000, image_start = 0, image_bytes = 1e00
initializing HWRPB at 2000
initializing page table at 1e4000
initializing machine state
setting affinity to the primary CPU
jumping to bootstrap code

I see a lot of cdrom disk activity, but no console activity. I
let it sit like this for about 1/2 hour and no results.

This happened to me ad it was the CDROM drive. I had to test my CDs on a different server where they worked. Finally Hp replaced the CDrom drive and thngs were fine after that

Re: Boot problem after "jumping to bootstrap code"

Probably there is something wrong with the CD-ROM drive itself.
Boot the system from your hard disk (system Disk) and try to use the CDROM and see if it will log any errors in the errorlog file.
If there are errors, then call Compaq Support and let them replace it

Re: Boot problem after "jumping to bootstrap code"

have you checked binary.errlog by using ca or dia? Are the console variables properly set?
