Re: Booting issue

gops,
Not enough information. Start out with why your booting froma different drive. Is the drive a mirror of another?

Re: Booting issue

Gops,

Refer to the next link and look for the section called: "Using the Boot Console Handler to Boot from an Alternate Boot Device"

It explain how to do it:

Re: Booting issue

During the early portion of the boot process, you should receive a message on your console device that says something like "you have 10 seconds to interrupt the auto-boot process by pressing any key". All you have to do is "press any key" and you will be able to interact with the boot process to select another disk (provided the disk has something bootable on it).

Re: Booting issue

I have 3 hard drives when i try to restart i wish start the server in another harddrive.
No storage, no mirroer. Its a simple HPUX server RP5410 with 3 hard drives.

When i interrupt at that time am getting the below message.

[Read only - use ^Ecf for console write access.]

Re: Booting issue

OK, so do what it says.

Press -E
then c
then f

This should allow you to interact with the console.
