C8000 Writing to DVD

On a C8000 (HP-UX 11.11), is it possible to use the mkisofs and cdrecord commands to write to a DVD? I can't even get cdrecord -scanbus to 'see' the DVD drive.

Re: C8000 Writing to DVD

Which cdrecord? What is "the DVD drive",
connected how, and can other software "'see'"
it?

Support for (free) DVD writing is relatively
new in cdrtools/cdrecord. You might wish to
try the latest source kit from the usual
place:

ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/cdrecord/alpha/

cdrtools-2.01.01a59 seems to be the latest
one at the moment, more or less.

Hi

it should be possible to use the Hp s/w in the link provided, however it does has limitations?

it needs to be a proper hp supported drive and connected via ide, not a usb drive

Hi,

well, to see DVD you just need 'ioscan -fnC disk'. As said above, the drive should be supported by HP.
