CCAT diagnosis...
I'm trying to diagnose a couple of recent crashes on an old 4.0F box.
CCAT has diagnosed the crash files and has come up with Rule ID: CCAT-D-U-4270 as being the cause.
1. Are these rule descriptions available publically anywhere ?
2. If not, could someone within HP possibly let me know what it means !?
Many thanks,
Rob

Re: CCAT diagnosis...
Can you post some more details?
Like hardware configuration, patches, etc.
I am not from HP, but have some experience.

Re: CCAT diagnosis...
For security reasons, I can't really supply much more information, other than to say its a 600au workstation :-(
Further details from the CCAT analysis are:
Status: Identified
Rule ID: CCAT-D-U-4270
Rule Title: BCP*HA[4.0E-M-BL13]8400:kmf, see also GOZ24310B
Specificity: 3
Qtip Link: http://qtip3.alf.cpqcorp.net/ccat/CCAT-D-U-4270.html
Cheers,
Rob

Re: CCAT diagnosis...
The old case description indicates this was an SMP race condition and the fix was submitted/shipped in the BL17 patch kit for V4.0F & V4.0G. The roadmap I looked at had the last shipped patch kit for V4.0F listed as PK8 (BL22). If you are running one of the last released kits in this stream, then the patch is already included and this is a different issue.

Re: CCAT diagnosis...
I managed to get HP to analyse some of the other crash logs - the machine crashed a number of times subsequently - and it turns out we probably have a hardware failure.
The system board is being swapped out soon, so hopefully that should resolve things.
Cheers,
Rob
