CD is not coming out of cdrom

Hi,
I mounted the cd and then unmounted it after the use but now the cd is not coming out of cdrom on my itanium system. Did I need to do any more steps to take out that cd. I check with /cdrom and now it is unmounted but when I physically checked on the server with a insertig pin and all the disk is still rotating in the server. Can u help?

By any chance is it mounted on a virtual server?

To acquire ownership again, detach the device from the guest by:
hpvmmodify â P guestname â d tape:scsi::attach:/dev/rscsi/cxtxdx
Run IOSCAN once more to verify the device in now CLAIMED!

No its not been exported neither its on virtual. I asked for the downtime and rebooted the server and now CD came out but this is not the solution. I want to know what must have happened exactly b'cs the same situation I have faced on my other HPUX server also and then I need to reboot the server. Either I am missing something or there must be some additional steps that need to follow. Please guide

No its EVA 5K attached to it

If you did a pfs_mount, it might be that some rpc process was still hanging around.
I know I'm guilty of doing pfs_mount and then umount to take a dvd down, and have run into things getting stuck.

No I have not done the pfs mount as this is itanium server. I just did mount use the cd and then unmount.

No, there are no other steps to take, except to possibly get your hardware checked out. Everything from the CD-ROM drive in thru the SCSI interface, the backplane, etc. *IF* the drive was properly umount'ed but still wouldn't eject the CD, then there is a hardware issue somewhere.
