Check your network configuration and make sure that the following is true:
# 1) A network interface configuration is optional.
# However, if the network interface is not configured, the environmental
# variable "DTNONETWORK=true" must be set/exported.
# To do this, define and export the DTNONETWORK environment variable in your $HOME/.dtprofile file.
#
# 2) If there is a primary network adaptor, it must be UP.
# If the primary network adapter is not up, then the loopback device
# must be UP.
#
# 3) The inet daemon must be running.
#
# 4) The portmap daemon must be running.
#
# 5) The hostname and IP address for the primay network adapter must match
# the entry in /etc/hosts
#
# 6) Make sure that /etc/hosts is readable by everyone on the system.
#
# 7) Also make sure that /etc/rc.config is also readable by everyone on the system.
