CPU resource sharing in RHEL5
Is there any product or software in RHEL5 similar to HP's gWLM where I can share the resources (CPU) between the servers (bl460c blades)? My requirement is on the DR site we have one server for DR and another is for performance. In the normal scenario, performance should have more resources i.e. taking most of the CPU's from perf. env. In case of DR, the other way around.
Thanks,
Srini

Re: CPU resource sharing in RHEL5
If so, IMO, this is the best option for you.

Re: CPU resource sharing in RHEL5
If so, VMWARE-based infrastructure should provide similar functuonality, see http://pubs.vmware.com/vsp40/resmgmt/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm#href=c_load_balancing_and_virtual_machine_migration.html&single=true .
(I don't think you can share CPUs between a few server w/o some virtual infrastructure)

Re: CPU resource sharing in RHEL5
vmware, from vmware, or other virtualization packages does permit the assignment of CPU resources and priority to one machine or the other.
A standards based tool will be easier to administer in the scenario you envision.
