Can't do an update to a DRD clone while system is online

We are using SG on our HPUX servers. I just tried to do an upgrade of my DRD clone and it won't let me do it unless I take the cluster down. Is there a way around this short of an outage?

What HP-UX version are you using?
It appears that Cluster-Monitor isn't DRD safe.

It is version 11v3i update 2. Kind of a drag if I can't update without downtime..

Will it be possible to do a package shifting to one node, halt the current node. Then do an update?

That will not require a downtime.

What and all the product are you are going to update?

That will most likely be the way we end up doing it.. taking down the passive node and upgrade and then failing over to it.

i hope you refering "drd" is the HP-UX "Dynamic Root
Disk" "DRD" clone.

Please let us know the step you following to do swinstall

Essentially the version iof DRD and 11iv3 does not support a product updat, which is what I suspect you are trying to do. It only allows patch updates.
There is a later version ( March 2009) which is the first version that will allow product or OS updates as well as patches.
