Can't install WBEMSvcs_A.02.09.02 now SMH page is not working, help!

Hi,

I am trying to install WBEMServices but I keep getting errors. At the beginning of the installation it error out with:

The task has suspended on the target "test-ux-1:/". For information on why the task suspended, press the "Logfile ..." button. To unsuspend, you must either press the "Abort" button to quit or fix the problem and press the "Resume" button to continue.

I have also attached the log file from the installation. It said I'm missing the files listed in the log but I checked the directory the those files are there. Someone please help.

Download again and start over (re-install).

Thanks, Torsten, for the quick replied. I download the file twice and same thing. But I download it again the third time and your right the other two times I downloaded it. the file was only roughly 85MB but the good one is almost 100 MB. I did get it installed with no problems now but I still can't use Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) for my SMH page. I use smhassist and everything seems to be OK:

Any ideas why it's not working on IE?

What does it mean - can't use the browser?

Does another browser work?

Sorry to be unclear but when I try using Internet Explorer 7 accessing System Management Page on port 2301 I get certificate error: Navigation blocked. It then gives you a choice to close the browser or click on "Continue to this page (not recommended)". I when it worked before I update WBEMSvcs to 2.09.2 I would normally click on that option and it would then redirect me to the log on screen (switching over to secure port 2381). But now it just try to redirect to the log on screen and it's blank, nothing shows up. I even tried using firefox but same problems. The logon screen on the webpage is just blank. I can't seems to make it work or get to the log on screen.

What do the /var/opt/hpsmh/logs indicate? Check the error and smh logs.

What error are you getting when trying to load your SMH page? I had an ldap error even though we were not using ldap and the fix was to download the latest UserGroups depot from software.hp.com in order to fix.

Internet Explorer doesn't give any errors. it's just a blank screen with the address bar showing:

I checked the errors on the logs and the only thing I see is:

/var/sam/log/samlog: No such file or directory

chmod: can't access /var/sam/log/samlog

/var/sam/log/samlog does exist in that location. I'm not sure why it's indicating No such file or directory. And the second error. I'm not sure what the permission to samlog should be.

I have also downloaded UserGroups as you suggested and installed it. But still not luck.

Works fine with IE8 for me ..

IE8 is a option ?

But no IE8 is not an option. Not yet atleast. But I'll will give it a test on a test workstation.
