Solution>>> https://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=integrity_vm41
2)HPVM4.0 and 4.1 supports only HP-UX 11iv2 and HP-UX 11iv3 to be installed on virtual machine, am i correct?
>>> YES
3)We can not install HP-UX 10.20, 11.00 and 11.11 install on any one the of versions of HPVM, am i correct?
>>>YES
4)Can we do P2V on HPVM?
>>>YES as discussed in above replies
5)Can we convert physical server running HP-UX 11iv2 and HP-UX 11iv3 to HPVM as virtual machine?
>>> if its integrity yes we can.
6)Can we convert physical server running HP-UX 10.20, 11.00 and 11.11 to HPVM as virtual machine?

Re: Can we convert HP physical server to HP VM?
Still I need more clarification.
You have answered yes to my questions:
2)HPVM4.0 and 4.1 supports only HP-UX 11iv2 and HP-UX 11iv3 to be installed on virtual machine, am i correct?
>>> YES
3)We can not install HP-UX 10.20, 11.00 and 11.11 install on any one the of versions of HPVM, am i correct?
>>>YES
My questions:
1)If above statements are ture,How can we move HP-UX 10.20, 11.00 and 11.11 running on HP integrity physical server to VM of integrity server, I believe you it can't, but you are telling that if HP-UX 10.20, 11.00 and 11.11 running on Intergrity server then we can mount, but normally HP-UX 10.20, 11.00 and 11.11 can not be installed on Integrity server?
What is ture?
2)We can move HP-UX 11iv2 and 11iv3 running on Integrity server to VM, since the HPVM 4.1 is supporting HP-UX 11iv2 and 11iv3, but we can not move HP-UX 1020, 11.00, 11.11 to VM, am i correct?
3)Actually we can not install HP-UX 10.20, 11.00 and 11.11 on Integrity server, we can install only HP-UX 11iv2 and 11iv3 on Integrity server, am i correct?
4)Is it possible real P2V, want to move whole IA64 HP-XU OS to VM, what is the procedure to do this, pls explain me in detail.?

Re: Can we convert HP physical server to HP VM?
The newer versions of HPVM software require 11.31IA.
So, yes you can load this software and use it to create "virtual servers" provided the hardware you load it on is compatible and has enough hardware to make it worth your while.
The software is loaded on the HPUX server and that server becomes known as the HOST server.
At no time does that HPUX server become a virtual machine itself!!
It, the HPUX server, creates virtual machine CLIENTS and the HPUX HOST serves up and manages that hardware (CPU,Memory, disk, etc) to the virtual machine CLIENT(S) running on it.
So make sure the HPUX server you are looking at using has plenty of physical resources to share to the VM Clients.

Kapil replied that you are correct in saying the truth ..hp-ux 10.20/11.00/11.11 can not be installed on VM

1)take ignite backup
#Make_net_recovery
2)restore it on to VM

You have to migrate the services and applications to equivalent, upgraded versions that run on 11.31 IA. Oracle for example has a data migration path for this.
2)We can move HP-UX 11iv2 and 11iv3 running on Integrity server to VM, since the HPVM 4.1 is supporting HP-UX 11iv2 and 11iv3, but we can not move HP-UX 1020, 11.00, 11.11 to VM, am i correct?
You can not run unsupported OS on HPVM. 11.11 is PA-RISC only and you must migrate applications from this OS. There probably are IA versions you can migrate too.
3)Actually we can not install HP-UX 10.20, 11.00 and 11.11 on Integrity server, we can install only HP-UX 11iv2 and 11iv3 on Integrity server, am i correct?
You are correct.

Re: Can we convert HP physical server to HP VM?
well crux is, hpvm runs only on integrity so the things which can be installed on HPVM should be compatible with integrity(which rejects the possibility to install 10.X and 11.11).
[ I might have missed the term you wrote :( ]
anyways you can always upgrade ur old, rusty OS to new one as VM and as suggested above, you can migrate the applications on new VM (aries is ur friend here.

Re: Can we convert HP physical server to HP VM?
I have checked in one of VMs for aries software.
I am able to find following software.
#swlist -l product | grep -i aries
PHCO_36447 1.0 aries(5) man page patch
PHCO_36448 1.0 Japanese aries(5) man page patch
PHSS_37553 1.0 Aries cumulative patch
Are the software enough to run the applications by aries.

Re: Can we convert HP physical server to HP VM?
It should be.
You'll need to get the application and all shlibs used by that application to your new system.
