Cancel other users printjob
When I try to cancel printjob's created by another user like:
hostname:cancel PRINTER -uOTHER-USER
I get:
cancel: You must have root capability to use this option
In man 1 cancel:
Only users with appropriate privileges can use this option.
How do I get "appropriate privileges"?

Re: Cancel other users printjob
When you build the printer with SAM or with 'lpadmin' you have the option of specifying that any user can cancel a print request. The default behavior is *not* to allow anyone to cancel.

Re: Cancel other users printjob
How can I see if "-orc" is enabled?
How can I disable "-orc"
man 1M lpadmin:
-orc Restricts users to canceling only their own requests. Default is to not restrict the cancel command.
I just can't find the oposite option.

Re: Cancel other users printjob
I've always used SAM to build and/or rebuild my printers. For remote printers you could try: 'lpadmin -pprintername -ocmrcmodel'.

Re: Cancel other users printjob
If you are using jetdirect.
run jetadmin then select 1 and 5 and select the printer queue. you can change option from no to yes.
