Cannot mount DVD On 11.23

Hi,
I am having a problem mounting a DVDROM on a RX-7620 with 11.23. As follows:

# mount /dev/dsk/c1t2d0 /DVDROM
mount: cannot access -specific mount command

Permissions on mount files appear to be okay. Non CDFS file systems mount okay as well. This occurs with any CD/DVD regardless of format, HP or RR.

I have seen mount failed whe you do not specify "-o ro" option for read-only file systems, even though it is not a requirement. So, I would suggest you to use command:

mount -o ro /dev/dsk/c1t2d0 /DVDROM

and see if it works

That would be a no good. Also if I try to force it to be a cdfs as follows it says the cdfs is an invalid option.

# mount -F cdfs -o r /dev/dsk/c1t2d0 /DVDROM
mount: cdfs : Invalid argument

# mount -F cdfs /dev/dsk/c1t2d0 /DVDROM
mount: cdfs : Invalid argument

# mount -o cdcase /dev/dsk/c1t2d0 /DVDROM
mount: cannot access -specific mount command

# mount -F cdfs -o cdcase /dev/dsk/c1t2d0 /DVDROM
mount: cdfs : Invalid argument

Another tidbit of information. If I run fstyp -l it has the cdfs line blank.

Should be -
# fstyp -l
hfs
nfs
cdfs
autofs
cachefs
ffs
lofs
nfs3
procfs
vxfs

Actually appears as ...
# fstyp -l
hfs
nfs

autofs
cachefs
ffs
lofs
nfs3
procfs
vxfs
cifs
pipefs

find another linux server, mount the cdrom, then use nfs or samba to share the mount point with HPUX.

Check at # ll /sbin/fs/cdfs/ ==>In this location MOUNT & UMOUNT command executables are existing if not

Copy the mount from /sbin/mount to /sbin/fs/cdfs ==>It should work

Check the state of cdfs kernel module with

# kcmodule -v cdfs

If it shows unused (means not loaded), run

# kcmodule cdfs=loaded

Now you should see it with fstyp and mount should work.
