Change Hostname
Hello
How can i change hostname on a ES45 running Tru64 ?
The box is running a Oracle DB. Will a change in hostname affect this DB ?
Best regards Rune Myrhaug

Re: Change Hostname
I'm sure if you drill down in sysman, network you'll find the offical solution.
myself, playing in the labs, just go in and whack:
/etc/rc.config
/etc/hosts
Oracle only cares in the SQL*net area.
Be sure the LISTENER.ORA (and ossibly TNSNAMES.ORA) are in sync with the new name.
hth,
Hein.

Re: Change Hostname
it depend if this system is a cluster member or not and which version of tru64 is used.
But don't forget to change the name within the /sys/conf/HOSTNAME file (requires a kernel rebuilt)
