Change crash dump area.

Hi guys,
i need to chage a dump area from /var/adm/crash,
in a new VERITAS file system :

/dev/vx/dsk/vg01/lv_crash
8388608 1852827 6133698 23% /crash

Is it possible?
What is the procedure?
Can i use a veritas volume and one external disk?

Thanks a lot

Yes.

What is the procedure?

(Edit the /etc/rc.config.d/savecrash file or use crashconf [man 1M crashconf]).

Yes, you use external disk, aslong as your properly put information on the "savecrash" config file.

Re: Change crash dump area.

Yes you can do that. We use a different vg and modfy the /etc/rc.config.d/savecrash to point to that vg. Crash files can get very large.
